I have come to say to you today, my friends: even though we face the hardships and difficulties of yesterday and today, I still have a dream for tomorrow. It’s a dream deeply rooted in my head, my heart and my mind.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day the students won’t sit here in the classroom doing nothing but the boring homework day after day, year in, year out. Instead, we will be busy teaching them to draw beautiful pictures, and smell flowers in the open fields. They will be singing and doing what they like best under the sun.
I have a dream that one day we won’t lecture what causes them headaches in maths and physics, but together we will enjoy ourselves exploring what interests our curiosity most, even beyond the solar system.
I have a dream that one day we won’t take any unnecessary exams one after another. And we’ll show the world what’s good in us through hard work and wonderful performances. It will take years of attempt and endeavor, but we won’t regret or complain.
I have a dream that one day we’ll enjoy some fresh air, like sports activities and other entertainment for a change. And everyone will take delight in the creative and recreational engagements and enhance friendship among the teachers and students.
With this faith, we will be able to study together, to work together, to struggle together for a better education in the near future on this ground, on our campus, knowing that we’ll realize this dream one day. I hope we’ll dream the same dream and that it will come true some day!
Let’s get moving and live the dream with our own hands before our own eyes!
